Project details:

The Al-Nahrawan General Hospital Project is one of the major healthcare developments implemented in Baghdad Governorate. It was executed on a Design & Build (Turnkey) basis, with a capacity of 246 beds and a total site area of 95,500 m², using a reinforced concrete structural system, and in accordance with the designs approved by the Design Department of the Ministry of Health.

The project includes the design and execution of all civil, mechanical, electrical, sanitary, and HVAC works, in addition to the supply and installation of medical equipment, medical and non-medical furniture, with full completion within the specified schedule.

Project Components:

  • The project consists of three main buildings, with a total built-up area of 38,000 m².
  • Main Hospital Building:
    Composed of seven sections with varying heights ranging from one to seven floors, with a total built-up area of 34,000 m².
    The hospital has a total capacity of 246 beds, including 10% VIP rooms, and is equipped with seven modern operating theaters and one catheterization hall.
  • Doctors’ Residence Building:
    Consists of two floors, accommodating 70 beds, with integrated service rooms and amenities.
  • Service Building:
    A single-story structure housing the main utility and support facilities.

External Works and Infrastructure:

  • Three main gates equipped with security rooms and main reception areas, designed for the entry and exit of patients, visitors, and light vehicles.
  • Perimeter fence with a total length of 1,202 meters, including guard towers, lighting systems, and a CCTV monitoring network.
  • Extensive green areas and car parking spaces surrounding the complex.
  • Helipad for emergency medical air transport.
  • Medical waste incinerator for safe disposal.
  • Reinforced concrete water tanks (2 units) with a capacity of 1,000 m³ for general use, and an additional tank with a capacity of 875 m³ for cooling and heating services.
  • Oxygen storage tank and fuel storage tanks for continuous hospital operation.
  • Underground utility tunnel connecting the buildings, dedicated to power supply, cooling systems, and medical gas networks.
  • Wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 250 m³/day.
  • Oxygen generation plant with a total capacity of 150 m³/hour, divided into two units, each producing 75 m³/hour.
