The Al-Rumaitha General Hospital Project, with a capacity of 200 beds, is one of the vital healthcare projects in Al-Muthanna Governorate. It forms part of plans to develop healthcare infrastructure and enhance the level of medical services provided to citizens. The project has been entrusted to AKG Engineering, in recognition of the company’s expertise and competence in executing healthcare projects in accordance with approved standards.

The project aims to increase the capacity of healthcare institutions in the governorate and to provide integrated medical services that meet the needs of the population, through the development of modern facilities based on the latest engineering and medical standards, thereby improving the quality of healthcare services and enhancing operational efficiency.

The implementation of the project is expected to bring about a qualitative transformation in healthcare services in Al-Muthanna Governorate, while adhering to the specified timelines and high-quality standards, contributing to the sustainability of the project and supporting long-term healthcare development objectives.

The Minister of Health, Professor Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, laid the foundation stone on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, for the Al-Rumaitha General Hospital Project in Al Muthanna Governorate, in the presence of the Governor of Al-Muthanna, Mr. Muhannad Al-Atabi, the Ministry’s Administrative Undersecretary Dr. Khamees Al-Saad, the Director General of the Projects and Engineering Services Department Dr. Eng. Hossam Alwan, the Director General of Al-Muthanna Health Directorate Dr. Mazin Majid Al-Akeeli, the Mayor of Al-Rumaitha District Mr. Jasim Al-Hassani, several members of the Provincial Council, senior staff members of the department, and representatives of the company executing the project.
